Trekking to the top
of mount Rinjani 3 days 2 nights via Senaru village
Day 1 : We leave Senggigi at 04.00 am and
approximately 2,5 hours drive to Senaru Village
through beautiful landscape north of Lombok. At
06.30 am we leave RCTI to begin our climb,
traveling through the local farmer fields and then
the tropical rain forest in the cool morning hours.
We arrive at the base camp III for lunch around
12.00 at noon. Observe Rinjani infamous wild monkeys
as you eat your meal, but be sure to guard your food
from these mischievous primates! Afterwards, we
continue on up to the crater rim for the first night
camp. Here we will enjoy our dinner as we watch the
sunsets.
Day 2 : If you wish to, you can get up early to
watch the sunrise. After having breakfast and
enjoying the lake view from the rim, we then make
the 2 hours descend into the crater to Segara Anak
Lake. Once there, we will enjoy a long break by the
lake side and having lunch. Here you can take a cool
dip in the lake, relax in the natural volcanic hot
springs, explore the area, or just take a nap. At
14.00 pm, we continue our trip to Sembalun Crater
Rim for dinner and second night camp. Be sure to get
the bed early here b/c we get up early next day to
catch the sunrise from the summit.
Day 3 : At 03.00 am ( morning ), we start the 3
hours climbing to the summit of Mount Rinjani to
cath the sunrise at 3726 M. After taking the view
from the top of Mount Rinjani, we return to the
sembalun rim camp for a late breakfast at 10.00 am,
we descend down to the Village of Sembalun, a
journey about 4 or 5 hours. Transport will be
waiting for you there to transfer you back to Senaru
and return to Senggigi.
